How Technology Has Impacted Customer Service

Think back twenty years: What technical products are you using now that weren’t in your life then? For me, it starts with the alarm on my smartphone that wakes me each morning. Next, I use my high-powered toothbrush that removes 99% of the plaque, and then make my way to my laptop and tablet computers to begin work. Technology has made our lives easier and more efficient. We are able to accomplish more in less time. However, in the next decade, the world’s data is expected to increase 44 times while the number of IT professionals increases only 1.4 times. At a certain point, productivity is hampered by too much information. With all this technology and data, we may find that we need more assistance from customer service.
